The MNODN is proud to be convening the Internal Practitioners Community of Practice (CoP) designed to meet the needs of internal change agents. Minnesota Management & Budget is an agency that provides Financial and HR services and consultation to the rest of the state government agencies. Providing leadership in this arena involves implementing change at the system level and exercising influence without formal authority in order to build coalitions and leverage resources.
In this session, we have Brenda Norman, Division Director at Minnesota Management & Budget discuss with us a variety of methods for engaging support, strategic thinking, utilizing business intelligence for decision-making, and building partnerships that reflect activities of "consulting on the inside." Examples include strategies used in starting up a new division in the agency, and launching enterprise systems for learning management, employee development and workforce planning.
Brenda Norman provides leadership and strategy implementation to enterprise workforce planning, diversity and employee development as a division director at Minnesota Management and Budget. She brings the experience of innovative public and private sector leadership in program, policy and partnership development. She mentors emerging leaders at the state and is an organization development consultant. Brenda holds a MA in Human Resource Development and is completing her doctorate in Organization Development at the University of St. Thomas.
